Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has read the riot act to the newly inaugurated chairmen in the state, warning them not to factionalise the party, saying any attempt to do so will attract the wrath of the party.
The party also warned them against sabotaging the policies and programmes of the state government.
The state chairman of the party, Isa Sadiq Achida, gave the warning during the swearing-in of the new chairmen of Goronyo and Tambuwal Local Government Areas in the state.
The chairman sternly warned them against doing anything capable of bringing disunity among their members, adding: “As leaders you are expected to see all members of the party as your own. Don’t say this one like me and this one don’t.
“They are all your members, so carry everybody along. And don’t give room for factionalisation of the party in your areas.”
Achida noted that the APC-led government in the state was bringing different policies and programmes aimed at improving the living standards of citizenry.
“So we need a successful implementation of these programmes in your areas. Any chairman found sabotaging the government would face the consequences of his actions,” he said.
The sworn-in Chairmen were Alhaji Hassan Sayyinna and Sa’idu Muhammad Goronyo of Tambuwal and Goronyo LGA of the state.
Sayyinna was the deputy chairman of the party in the area before his elevation, following the death of the former chairman of the party.
Similarly, Muhammad was replacing the former chairman of the party in Goronyo LGA who is now the sole administrator of the area.
